Why do we do this?

On one level, it does not matter whether we are concerned with how rejection feels to a high school kid or selling a product - it's all about the story. Here is one of the best short summaries of why we enjoy and need to tell stories, taken from the essay, The Power of Stories, by Scott Russell Sanders.

Here is his list of the ten most important reasons for telling and hearing stories:

"Stories entertain us.

They create community.

They help us to see through the eyes of other people.

They show us the consequences of our actions.

They educate our desires.

Stories help us to dwell in place.

They help us to dwell in time.

They help us to deal with suffering, loss, and death.

They teach us how to be human.

And stories acknowledge the wonder and mystery of Creation."

You might be an actor or a teller of stories that shares our goal of telling important stories about ordinary life and has the desire and drive to complete a script and a short film with our help. Maybe you need some kind of video for a non-profit organization. Maybe you want to capture the story of your family. Please contact us.

There are many sources for more information about the principles we believe in, and we don't all agree. One such source can be found on this web page.

"... Average education...stresses memory and mental agility, discounts the individual's inner, emotional self, and encourages students to see other people as competitors. Such indoctrination is disabling for work in the arts, especially in collaborative disciplines such as film, theater and dance."
