Non-film and non-profit work
We also done a variety of different kinds of videos like the following.
- For a local psychotherapist, we prepared a teaching DVD. This involved helping him set up his office to tape himself and his interaction with patients, then assembling the desired clips into the final disc. You won't see any of this in the video store, however, since all the material is confidential. You'll probably have to be a therapist attending one of the doctor's seminars to see the video.
- For a local church, we made an overview to acquaint new members with the opportunities and obligations of membership.
- For a local choreographer, we made a tape of a dance she created to remember the historical disappearance of so many people, including children, under the dictator Peron in Argentina.
- We served as DP for a local commercial production, The Art of The Drink, an instructional DVD put together by Anthony Caporale. You might find more info here. This project, while a standard "infomercial" on one level, had the interesting aspect of using six actors to portray six different people with specific kinds of questions about drinks, bars, and liquor ranging from ignorance ("What is a ...?") to specialist. The project was shot from midnight to 6AM one night and we were assisted by Bryan Roberts.
- We have also done "reels" for several of the actors that have appeared in Turnip films. Of course, a "reel" these days is really a DVD. For actors who have appeared as principals in Turnip productions, we do this for almost nothing. And for others, we do a great job for a reasonable price.
